Keeping your home warm
The Warm Homes: local grant is a government-funded scheme to provide energy efficiency measures, and low carbon heating to low-income households to help reduce energy bills.
For more information and to register your interest, visit our Warm Homes: Local Grant information pages.
Grants are available via larger energy suppliers and installers working on their behalf for a range of insulation measures and support to upgrade or replace inefficient or broken heating systems.
Eligible households must be in receipt of qualifying benefits, or on a low income and qualify via local authority flexible eligibility which takes into account household circumstances and property characteristics.
For more information see Energy company obligation (ECO).
The Government is providing grants to encourage property owners to install low carbon heating systems such as heat pumps and biomass boilers, through the boiler upgrade scheme (BUS). Grants of up £7,500 are available to subsidise the upfront cost of low-carbon heating technologies.
The scheme is open to homes and small business properties in England and Wales.
For more information see the government's Apply for the boiler upgrade scheme.

If you already have a heat pump, you can Become a host, share your heat pump experience (Nesta) and inspire others to explore the technology. You don't need to know all the technical details, what matters most is your real-life experience and the perspective you can offer to people considering a heat pump for their own home.
